Some of the products I use for model building.
Paints.

Over the years I have used Humbrol enamel and acrylic, Tamiya acrylics and the occasion pot of Revell enamel.
Currently I am using Vallejo acrylic paint, primarily the Model Air range for airbrshing and the Model Colour range for brush painting.
I also use Vallejo Surface Primer (in grey, black and gloss black) and their polyurethane* varnishes.
Other things are a must, respirator and vinyl gloves when airbrushing, droppers, lolipop sticks for mixing and mixing pots.
*Polyurethane is a plastic material used especially to make paint or substances which prevent water or heat from passing through.
Applying Decals.
I use two products from Microscale.
Micro Set prepares the surface with special wetting agents that cut the oils in new paint and converts the adhesive on the back of the decal to a stronger and longer lasting bond.
Micro Sol setting solution is for the most difficult irregular surfaces to be found on models. It completely softens the decal,
allowing it to drape down onto the surface of the model, conforming perfectly to surface irregularities without distortion.
Glues.
Micro Krystal Clear for sticking clear plastic parts, and other parts like wing mirrors and aerials on painted body shells.
As the name imples it dries totally clear and leaves no marks and deosn't damage any paint or varnish.
Tamiya Extra Thin Cement is a useful product for gluing plastic parts together. The glue is comparably thin, and flows smoothly,
by way of capillary action. It works by 'melting' the plastic together and does so in under 10 seconds.
I use this during the construction of non-painted parts.
Revell Contacta Professional has a very fine needle and is good for very accurate placement of glue.
I use this during the construction of non-painted parts.
Rocket Odourless is Medium viscosity, fast setting super glue; sets in 5-10 seconds.
I use this for the construction of painted parts as it doesn't damage the finished paint or varnish.
And best of all, as the name implies, it doesn't smell!
Miscellaneous items.
Vinyl gloves or cotten gloves during construction of painted paints to prevent damaging the parts
or leaving greasy fingermarks on the surface.
Rubbing alcohol (IPA). I use this for wiping down parts prior to painting to remove any grease.
I also use it for cleaning brushes and airbrushes.
